 Hey people,
We are Lucian and Marian Toma, and this is our post showing the breakdown of a character we did for this competition :http://www.cartridgesave.co.uk/www.cartridgesave.co.uk/3DPrintCup
In order to participate for the competition,we had to design a character ,a superhero, which will then be printed by the people at cartridgesave.co.uk.
Here is what we came up with:
First ,we decided to go for an everyday hero, the kid who likes to imagine himself as a superhero ,or SuperKid as we named it; so,after some sketches,we dived right into Zbrush and started designing from there.
Here is how we started, from a sphere, sculpting the head and the helmet :

Next we added the rest of the body :

After we did most of the detailing on the body,we did a Qremesh on it,projected the details, and then pose it into this position ,which looks very menacing :)

Here we added new elements, like glasses, big ones as it is a kid, the shield and weapon, which of course are things that the kid can find around the house,or in the kitchen. We found this step very funny to come up with what kind of weapons a kid will find,or choose;and the ground, which in this case is a floor from an abandoned house :

Here is the final render of the sculpt from Zbrush, before being send to be 3dprinted :

After we got the 3d printed model,we cleaned it up,glued some pieces and then proceed on painting it,getting a layer of primer on it,to hide some of the imperfections, and to prepare it for paint. We used acrylic colours, and this is the final result :

Being printed on a desktop 3d printer, the details obviously won't be of high quality, but just thinking that you can do loads of concepts, and just print them.at ome,as a hobby or just to invent things, its ..inspiring!
Well, thats all people,we hope you liked it and please leave any comments if you feel like it !
 Best regards,
 Lucian and Marian T.
